Water is the only thing you *need* to bring to class.  You can bring your own hoop if you like, but hoops will always be provided for in-class use, and available for sale if you wish to practice at home.

Comfortable shoes are a good idea, although some people prefer to dance barefoot.  Friction can be a big help when learning hula hooping, so we recommend clothes made of ‘sticky’ materials, such as lycra (like ‘stretchy’ jeans) or cotton.  Skin also has a lot of friction, so if you are comfortable with dressing scantily, you should for hooping.  We also caution against clothing that is bulky or too loose, as it can hamper hoop movement.

The weather is cooling down, so it is time to start hooping indoors, at the Health and Wellness Care Center in San Jose (located at 42 Race Street).  No hoop nor dance experience is expected or necessary, and practice hoops will provided in class.

Tuesday nights in September we will have open classes.  You will be exposed to both easy dazzling hoop movements as well as more technical possibilities, all while listening to your favorite music.  Each class is personalized to you, no matter your hooping level.  Only $15 for one hour of lessons (7:00-8:00pm) plus one hour of practice time (8:00-9:00pm).
