How are we different?

Unlike most dance instructors, we don’t assume you have any experience or natural talent.  All Infinite Hoop classes start with teaching the very basics of hula hooping, as well as the very basics of dancing.  We eventually combine the two, while adjusting the complexity of the hoop tricks and dance maneuvers to each person’s abilities and interests. 

Because we know multiple variations to each hoop ‘trick’, people can learn at their own pace.  Some people focus on perfecting the basic maneuvers, while others choose to attempt everything immediately, even the most difficult variations.  We recognize that people learn in many different ways, so we employ many different methods for each maneuver, including examples, discussions of basic physics, motion play, and ‘slow-mo’ walk-throughs.
